HERPES LABIAL – HERPECILIN
Physiopathology:
After initial infection, HSV1 ascends nerve axons & remains latent in the ganglia, until it gets activated by a trigger & migrates to the skin and mucosa surface. A vesicle develops where the virus multiplies. The open lesion then sheds large amounts of free virus particles. The free virus present on the lesion surface now attacks new host cells, spreading the infection & lesions, resulting in pain & burning sensation. Most adults have been exposed to HSV1 & 20-40% of them will develop recurrent Cold Sores.
Ideal Treatment Approach:
MUST BE MULTI-TARGET as it should remove free virus particles to stop and prevent further virus multiplication, remove other contaminant from the sores, and promote rapid lesion healing to reduce pain, irritation & itching.

1st topical safe healing Gel for Cold Sore treatment
Currently Available Treatments:
NONE as there is no topical antivirals.
- Topical Anti-Viral: none. Cyclovirs act intracellularly to stop virus growth.
- Intracellular Virus inhibitors: Acyclovirs such as Zovirax, etc… → Good as preventive but not effective at all on free virus.
- Symptomatic: topical anesthetics, antiseptics, analgesics, protective or hydrating films.
None of these treatments are capable of neutralizing or removing the free virus particles present on the surface of the lesion, stopping the infection, & stimulating healing simultaneously.
VITROBIO‘s Completely NEW Therapeutic Approach:
Protein Hypothesis for Anti-Viral Drugs.
HSV1 virus first enters a few cells where it develops, until it destroys the host cells, releasing a huge amount of free virus particles on the orolabial surface. Then, the new virus attacks more and more new host cells, creating a visible, spreading, painful lesion. Vitrobio postulated that the physical removal at the topical level (on the infected biological surface) of these virus particles would help stop the infection and development of the lesion. Additionally, it was important to hydrate the lesion to help relieve the burning and pain sensation and promote an environment conducive to fast lesion healing. After 17 years of R&D, Vitrobio discovered & patentd a hypertonic transparent adhesive liquid film, 18 times more osmotically active than Sea Water yet NON-IRRITANT (International patents: PCT/FR99/01340).(PCT/EP2013/061835). Just a drop of this liquid on the surface of the cold sore lesion instantly attracts hypotonic fluids from the lesion surface, drains all the free virus particles and dislodges all other contaminants (bacteria, foreign particles, dusts). Cleaning the lesion reduces pain & irritation and promotes a clean, favorable environment conducive to accelerated lesion healing. Due to the instant mechanical effects consisting in removing the infection mechanically as well as cleaning, protecting the sore, & accelerating healing, produces fast symptomatic relief. Herpecilin is the 1st, topical, safe, new generation of multi-target cold sore treatment. (For detailed mode of action: please contact Vitrobio)
